Richard Greentree, Pricipal Consultant

Dr. Richard Greentree is a licensed psychologist, organization development consultant and board certified executive coach.  Possessing extensive management as well as consulting experience, Rick blends an in-depth understanding of group and organizational dynamics with a first-hand appreciation of the importance of productivity and financial performance.

Focusing on the development of personnel, work teams and organizations, Rick’s professional focus includes leadership assessment and development, team development, organizational change management and executive coaching. Prior to becoming part of the Exemplary Performance team, he has served as Administrator of Executive Development for a global manufacturing company; Director of Management Development for a national retailer; Director of Strategic Management Services for a large regional accounting and consulting firm; internal management consultant for a fortune 200 energy company.

Rick has assisted local, national, and global organizations, publicly and privately held companies, for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. Primary sectors served include banking, government, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, energy, and transportation.  A sampling of consulting engagements includes assisting (as part of a small international consulting team) in the delivery of a two-day business simulation to all incoming first-year students of Harvard University’s MBA program; providing six years of change management consulting to senior leadership throughout the Virginia Department of Transportation; facilitating 360 feedbacks and coaching for the top 1% of Nestle Corporate leadership.

A past president of the Richmond, Virginia chapter of the American Society for Training & Development, Rick has served on several national ASTD committees.  He also co-chaired an international conference of the Society of Consulting Psychology of the American Psychological Association.  Rick has served on several community boards, instructed Change Leadership in the MBA program of the University of Richmond, and been adjunct faculty for American University.  He currently serves as an adjunct executive coach for the Center for Creative Leadership.

Rick received his M.A. and Ph.D. from George Peabody College (now Peabody College of Vanderbilt University).  Possessing extensive experience with a wide variety of assessment tools and leadership-oriented 360s, Rick is certified in the Center for Creative leadership’s entire assessment suite as well as in the MBTI, Influence Style Indicator, Conflict Dynamics Profile, and Assess System’s ASSESS battery and competency modeling process.  He was formally trained as a leadership coach through the Center for Creative Leadership and received his Board Certified Coach designation through the Center for Credentialing & Education.

Rick resides in Richmond, Virginia where his interests include travel, history, photography, U.Va basketball, memorable meals with his wife, and walking with Stella – his four-legged friend.
